🦮 Dog Handler & Trainer

Handle, train and care for our dogs using positive, humane techniques — helping them, and their owners, thrive.

The role

Key responsibilities.

Handle, care for, and supervise dogs during training, transport, and other activities.
Conduct assessments of dog behaviour and temperament.
Develop and implement training plans tailored to individual dogs.
Train dogs in basic obedience, advanced commands, and specific tasks (e.g. service work, scent detection, agility).
Use positive reinforcement and humane training techniques.
Keep accurate records of training progress, behaviour assessments, and health needs.
Clean and maintain kennels, grooming equipment, and training facilities.
Monitor dog health and behaviour and report any concerns to vets or supervisors.
Educate and advise dog owners or handlers on training techniques and behavioural strategies.
Participate in public demonstrations or client sessions when required.
